There's Power in Our Community

We are Community Energy Development Co-operative, an Ontario based co-operative that works together with our members and investors to build energy projects in our communities. Our member-owned solar installations generate prosperity while actively addressing climate change. Together, we can overcome the fossil fuel monopoly and advance our transition to a clean, renewable economy.

Guide the Organization

As a co-operative our members guide our organization. You have the opportunity to help shape the Co-op by attending and voting at our general meetings; as well as providing ongoing input. Take an active role in reducing climate change, provide cleaner air for future generations, and help end our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

The Social Benefits

You want to create a better world. So do we. Together, we can make a difference in our communities. Investing in renewable energy is the first step we can take as citizens to ensure that our communities are addressing energy inequality and creating energy security.

The Environmental Benefits

Adapting to climate change in a growing world will take a mix of energy sources. At CED Co-op, we want to see new energy generation capacity come from renewables, such as solar, wind and energy storage. By partnering with CED Co-op, you can help make our renewable energy future a reality.

Our current offering is now open.

The Co-op is excited to announce our latest investment offering of Class C Preference Shares. With an anticipated annual return rate of 4-5%, Class C Shares are available in both non-registered and registered accounts such as RRSP, RESP and TFSA.

By investing with CED Co-op you are supporting the deployment of new renewable energy infrastructure across the province that is making an impact towards transforming our energy economy.

Investments in CED Co-op are an excellent option for divesting from fossil fuels and diversifying your portfolio. Solar is now the cheapest form of electricity. As traditional energy costs continue to grow by up to 7% per year, our solar projects help to stabilize electricity rates and provide consistent returns that are resilient to market fluctuations.
